Works from a humanistic, solution-oriented and cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) framework. Specialised in expats mental health challenges, dealing with stress and, at times, the trauma of adapting to a foreign culture, work-place and relationships, whilst identifying personalised therapy goals and interventions to address these challenges and create an optimal outcome.
The therapeutic approach makes use of a variety of tools from the CBT toolbox, focusing on changing unhelpful thoughts, beliefs, attitudes and behaviours, improving emotional regulation and creating a suite of coping strategies to solve problematic issues. It implies that both therapist and client work together as a team to identify the problems the client faces, come up with strategies and homework exercises to address them and create positive, long-lasting solutions.
